Welcome to the New and Improved blog site of Renaissance Performers and Merchants!

HUZZAH AND WELL MET!!!

I want to thank all of you for being so patient with me as I tried my best to get back on to the blogger site that we all know and love but is still giving me issues, so here we go:

I started a blog to interview numerous performers, merchants and festivals that are from the USA and from across the World. Never in a million years did I think it would get to be so popular that the blog itself would get over 12K hits. I never dreamed that I would interview famous actors and famous performers in this Renaissance World.

If you are new to this page or new to this blog, I welcome you to this amazing world of true craftsmanship, true companionship and most of all the awesome folks that do these types of events.

To introduce you to this blog, I must also introduce myself and how I became so involved.

My name is Gia Volterra de Saulnier and I live in Massachusetts with my husband of 18 years and my son who is officially a teenager. I started performing with my husband in Renaissance festivals here in New England in 2001 and then in 2008, I co-directed and marketed our show Winslowshire Festival for the Animals (MA) (no longer going on).

At that point in 2008, there wasn’t much $ to promote our little show, so I used what I knew and at that time, was the beginning of Social Media. I also realized that most of the performers, merchants and some of the faires themselves had a lack of marketing knowledge or a place where they could promote themselves, so I created a group page which then became a fan page and then I started a blog, and now here we are.

I thank you for reading this blog and if you, your group, your troupe, your festival would like to be featured on this blog, please reach out to me on the fan page http://www.facebook.com/renperfmerch and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
