What is it that you do or sell?
I sell a variety of products for today’s modern heathen. I have altar and divination tools such as Elder futhark Rune sets that are imported from my rune maker in Siberia, home decor such as wooden carved boxes and wall hangings , as well as handmade wood burned plaques, mini decorative rounds shields and even full sized, combat ready Viking round shields. I also have a selection of used and previously loved books , which I refer to as the table of knowledge, however, the hallmark of my company is my drinking horns. I am the artist and creator of all the drinking horns here at Folkvardrs. We offer a beautiful selection of drinking horns that can be used for hot or cold beverages. It is coated inside and out for sanitation and quality and has no smell and no taste to interfere with the flavor and quality of your favorite beverage.
- Where are you located? Pensacola, Florida
- What got you interested in starting out in this business? I spent almost five years in big retail the last half of it in management, but with a college background in business, I still wanted to reach for more. I dreamed of having a business where I have more freedom and I can promote an understanding and appreciation of the old ways to those willing to learn, meet so many good people, touch people’s lives and have people touch my life… and that’s exactly what this business does at the end of the day.
My one year anniversary in business will be March 13th. I was able to leave my management position last October and devote full time to my dream and my business.
- What is your local faire or home faire? My Home Faire is The Gulf Coast Renaissance Festival in 2 locations- Milton, Florida March 7&8th
- Do you travel and if so, how far will you go? From April through August I travel to Indiana, and then several faires through Ohio , including Great Lakes Medieval Festival for 6 weeks & then I will return to Pensacola for winter.
- What is your set up for your booth/ or what do you have for a set (music/performance?) My store is set up to look like a 10×20 Viking longhouse and is appropriate for our historical genre of Norse 900 to 1100ad.
- Do you do this all year long or do you just do it once a year? I do this all year long, minus a couple 6 week breaks to rest.
- How else do you promote your wares ? When I am at home, I sell at my local flea market to establish a local presence and help build up the small heathen community in my area, and I also have an online retail store and ship orders all over the U.S.
- At faire, what garb/attire is your usual go to? At faire I dress in traditional Nordic(Viking) ladies garb. When it comes to Larping, I’m all in!

Thank you for letting us interview you! I know there has been some controversy lately about using the language “Heathen” and unless it has been trademarked, there is nothing I can do to change this vendor’s name.
