- I am based out of Oklahoma and while I have traveled all 50 states I currently try to stay within a 1,000 mile radius or less of the house. But for the right price I can adjust my mileage.
- I first started performing in my Grandpa’s Circus.
- My first introduction into the Ren fest community was to perform as a jester at a Boars Head Feast in Muskogee, Oklahoma back in 78 or 79 you know back in the 1900s.
5/7 The best advice I can give to anyone regardless of experience is to be willing to adapt, adjust, and overcome. More importantly remember you are not the reason the fair exist it takes everyone to create the fair.
6/9 While I understand the need for online sales I despise online performances. I am a performer for a live event, put your phone down and watch the show. Not just mine but all of them if you want to watch a video on your phone stay home because you are missing out on so much walking around looking at a screen.
7/12 In five years I hope to still be performing and possibly running my own event transitioning from Ren Fair to Street fair.
8/14 What makes me stand out just a bit is my history and experiences. The persona of Pa Moonshine finally came to being two years ago and is a compilation of ancestry as I am of Irish descent and the Irish have been avoiding paying taxes on the elixir of life since the 1500’s, I was raised and taught just a thing or two by some mighty fine moonshiners. It takes a village to raise a child and I had a real interesting village, and finally I’ve been performing sideshow for 48 years which aint bad for a self proclaimed 21 year old,
9/15 I’d like to say its my dashing good looks which allow me to stand out but well I just don’t have the sex appeal I once did but I do have a world record for standing barefoot on broken glass
10/17 To anyone interested in starting out as a vendor do your research and don’t sell something that can be ordered off of Amazon. To a performer “Are you Crazy?” Go for it if it is something you truly desire to do then do your best and get some. The best advice to ever give anyone regardless is do whatever with a passion and love that only comes second to your family.
11/19 As much as I hate to say this I see too many Ren faires becoming commercialized; which yes this is a business but more importantly at one time we were a family and I see that going to the wayside. I don’t want Ren Faires to become a fancy flea market with themed entertainment.
