I travel doing Renaissance festivals in the southeast from North Carolina to Alabama. My Studio being located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
I’ve always had a heart for arts and crafts mostly painting. But when I learned glass can be painted it was on. When I did so many I realize that I probably should try to sell them to support my art habit.
I’ve been doing Renaissance festivals for about 3 years.
My hometown fair is Carolina Renaissance Festival. This one’s for playing not working.
I haven’t needed too compensate much during these times, for I sell a little online as well. During the slow times, I can replenish my stock. I miss the anti reality of the fairs. I love going to them not only as a merchant but as a patron as well. It takes my mind out of reality for short time.
Faires are starting to open up. It is a really exciting time for me. .it’s kind of like fantasy movies for me. It takes you out of the real world for a bit.
I’m always working on art of some sort for the festivals.14.my worst experience do this work. I was doing a live video for a ren group that promotes small businesses. The video was in my studio to talk about my products. Of course i felt the need to dress in my ren garb, or 1/2 of my garb since the video would be waist up. So I had my tunic on that goes to my knees(no need for my tights, right). Well i had to stand up to reach one of my items and my tunic was tucked in my underwear. & viola i got to flash my underwear to everyone watching. Haha15.get my business name out there and work up my business. More profit will come.16. My garb is a green tunic with leather over bust armor and brown tights and boots17.na18. Each of my wares are different in themselves because they are all hand painted. But I don’t know of anyone that paints glass at my faire. I like being different.
Most of the people that compliment me on my garb say most women wear dresses and since i am a ranger that protects the last dragons and eggs, I have leather armor.
My home town had a 1 day small ren fest and they were looking for artist that had a love for renaissance. Boom I’m hooked
