2. When did you start selling your wares?

We started out as a general mercantile type merchant with the SCA over 22 years ago. That morphed into a weapons booth at Renaissance Fairs and then we changed to a leather booth about 6 years ago.

3. What is your local faire or home faire?

We usually have our booth at Valhalla, San Jose Renaissance/Fantasy and Folsom Renaissance Fair.

4. Do you travel, and if so, how far will you go?

Currently we stay in Northern California, as far South as San Jose. We’ve added Reno to our list this year and are hoping to go up to Southern Oregon this year.

5. What is your set up for your booth?

We have an 14×18 Pavilion we set up at fair but also for trade shows and the like.

6. Why Renaissance Faires or theme?  What is it that made you so interested in this period?

Steve has always been a history buff and loves Medieval history. We joined the SCA and later the Renaissance guild because of it. We started with a Medieval theme wedding 26 years ago and we’ve been hooked ever since. [SCA = Society for Creative Anachronisms gvds]

7. Do you do this all year long or do you just do it once a year?

We go to Renaissance fairs and trade shows all year as well as take orders from our website, Facebook and Instagram pages.

8. Describe your first experience with us or your best experience (could be worst experience if you want to share that)

We love to promote our booth as a full sensory experience. We have patrons that come in just to smell and tough the leather but the best are the customers who play dress up with us. There’s been numerous times where we were able to dress someone in our leather and the look on their face when they see how wonderful they look in the mirror is priceless. I’ve seen shy ladies come in that only try something on because their friend or family push them into it. Once they look in the mirror, their shoulders come back and they hold their head high. It’s the best feeling in the world.

9. How else do you promote your wares?

We try to post as often as we can on our Instagram and Facebook pages. We also have a website with our basic items on it. Most of our orders are placed one on one with each customer. We pride ourselves in making one of a kind items as unique as the person who orders it.

A/N Thank you so much to The Celtic Dragon out of CA for letting me feature them on the blog! If you or your troupe or group would like to be featured, please reach out to us on the fan page http://www.facebook.com/renperfmerch

Again, I don’t do any research on these vendors, this page is just a promoting tool to help get the word out about these amazing crafters and performers.

Until next we meet! HUZZAH!
